It’s been awhile since I shared some clothing ideas, so here are a few ideas for what to wear for your late summer or early fall family portraits. As I have explained before, it is not necessary for everyone in the family to wear the exact same thing. Rather, think about creating an ensemble in which each piece compliments the others. A great technique for planning your family’s wardrobe is to imagine that you are dressing one person. If you lay the clothing for everyone out on the bed, does it all work together? Does anything clash?
The example clothes shown here are from Old Navy, Gap, Piperlime, and Zappos, and these images have been used with their permission. Notice that nobody is wearing the exact same outfit, yet each item complements everything else in the grouping. Clothing layouts courtesy of Kleinkopf Designs.
