It’s Halloween night and I hope everyone had a great day today! I just wanted to share some pictures of my kids in their costumes. They both had awesome homemade costumes this year. My brother painted the skeleton bones and my mom made the Gryffindor robe. I could not believe we found that necktie for $2 at the Salvation Army store here in Morton Grove. It’s pretty darn close to Hermione’s original tie.
I am a room parent this year for 4th grade so I spent the afternoon at school helping with the 4th grade classroom party. Then we went trick-or-treating with some neighborhood friends and out to eat at Portillo’s. We planned to go to Chipotle for the famous $2 Halloween burritos but the line was winding out the door and into the parking lot. It was therefore an easy choice to go next door to the practically-empty Portillo’s.
The kids got a ridiculous amount of candy and were anxious to take the time to sort their loot. My son was so thrilled to get an Oh Henry bar, saying “look Mom, this candy is totally named after me!”
